There are two types of ferries available for traveling from Port Blair to Havelock:
- Private Ferries: More comfortable, faster, and well-maintained. Makruzz, Nautika, Nautika Pro, Green Ocean and ITT Majestic operate on this sector.
- Government Ferries: Operated by the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS). Budget-friendly fares (Rs 770 Seat, Rs 970 Chair) and a direct 2 hour crossing with no Neil stop on this route.

The journey takes 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, depending on the type of ferry. Fastest are the Makruzz and Nautika cruise , while Green Ocean is the slowest
Boarding Points
Port Blair and Havelock have different boarding (departing & arriving) points:
- Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram): Haddo Jetty (also called Haddo Wharf or Haddo Ferry Terminal). All private ferries and the government vessel depart from here.
- Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep): Havelock Jetty (Swaraj Dweep Ferry Ghat), about 2 km from Havelock town.

So now you have your ferry tickets, and this is where you need to be! The Port Blair Jetty, also called Haddo Wharf, is the main departure point for ferries to Havelock Island. Just 10 to 15 minutes from the airport or city hotels, it’s where operators like Makruzz, Green Ocean, Nautika, and ITT Majestic begin their journeys. The terminal is basic but functional, with seating, snack stalls, and ticket counters.
Arrive at least 45 to 60 minutes before your ferry time to collect your boarding pass and clear security. Announcements guide passengers through the boarding process. While it’s not a fancy setup, the buzz of travelers and the view of your ferry docked nearby sets the tone, your island adventure is just about to begin!
Havelock ferry Ghat (Swaraj Dweep / Havelock)

Havelock Island or now known as Swaraj Dweep Port which is 2 km from Havelock town, is the entry point of all ferries and cruises visiting Havelock Island. As we all know cruise and ferries are the only way to visit Havelock Island in Andaman, this acts as the sole entry and exit point. So if you are departing or arriving in Havelock, we need to board the ferry from this point
The ferry ghat has multiple sheds which acts like a waiting area inside the port. As of now, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration is constructing a new building which will act as the waiting area with various facilities unlike present jetty
