Andaman has only one international airport, which is the Veer Savarkar Airport. After its renovation now, it is capable of handling up to 5000 travelers a day and is located in the center of Port Blair city. As of November 2024 Andaman airport handles 16-20 flights a day. All the important and major airlines lands and departs. Some of it includes Indigo, Air India, Vistara, Akasa air and newly added Air Asia which generally fly to Kuala Lumpur starting from November 2024.

Currently, there is no lounge at the Port Blair airport, but you will find a decent number of restaurants such as Dosa Shop, KFC, Coffee House, and many others

Chennai, Kolkata, and Vishakhapatnam are some of the closest cities to Port Blair, mostly connected with regular flights and a few ship sailings every month. It takes a minimum of 2 hours to reach these Indian cities from Andaman.

Port Blair jetty is located just 3 km from Airport. Jetty or Port is the point from where all pvt.ferries departs to Havelock and Neil Island. It’s advisable to reach jetty 1 hour before the ferry timing

Best of Reaching Andaman Islands are in flights which is also the fastest way to reach. It takes a minimum of 2 hours to maximum 4 hours to reach from all the major Cities of India. It is one of the only way to reach Andaman , the other we can reach in Ships

Reaching the Andaman Islands by sea is an adventure in itself. The journey from Chennai, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam to Port Blair takes around 3 to 4 days, depending on the ship and the route. However, it’s a slower and less common option compared to flying.

Traveling to the Andaman Islands can be relatively expensive, especially during the peak season from October to March when flight prices tend to surge. However, ferry prices remain consistent throughout the year, but the ferry options are limited from only few cities though a budget friendly options.
